Cajun or Creole? It's All Great!
Growing up in a happy but poor home environment teaches you an awful lot of ways to make due with what you have. You learn to become creative with what you have on hand. Southern Easy Recipes web site comes from the creation of food now referred to as soul food. I am forever thankful for having this be a major part of my introduction to cooking. The mixing, the extending, the combining of many small portions of lots of different things and creating one large amount, enough to feed us all. I guess I should explain what I just said. There were times when my grandmother would want to make a dish and there wasn’t enough ingredience to make a sauce. She would go to the cupboard and find maybe a little of this and a little of that, put them all together and create “Magic”. There was a lot of magic created by my grandmother, she instilled her magic touch in me, teaching me patiently how to create my own “Magic” with taste and soul.
